PRESENT is a print magazine, a global community and a support system for Modern Makers.

PRESENT exists to inspire starting and shipping, through stories of making, discipline, and self-care from the most courageous creators of today and tomorrow.

We build our own tools to support Modern Makers: from a print magazine, a book and a digital platform, to podcasts and workshops for our global community.

We believe every human has what it takes. What’s often missing is the support to begin, and the structure to keep going. We are building PRESENT to be both.

Empower Modern Makers to Find, Start, Do Their Thing

Find and Start are the book’s first chapters; Do is the rest of it, and its title.

The Bliss and Battles of Living and Making Today. PRESENT is an ongoing discourse on how to navigate the world as a Modern Maker. We speak about process, philosophy and practice. It’s a space for honest conversations about fear, focus, and finding your way.

PRESENT was born out of necessity, curiosity and frustration. I wanted to build what I wish I had when I was starting out as a designer.

Founded in 2016 in New York. The magazine since 2019.

Hugo Hoppmann is a designer, creative director, and founder of PRESENT.

Hugo Hoppmann is a Paris-based designer and creative director. He redesigned the official logos of Salomon and Mugler, and gave talks at Apple and Yale. He is the founder and publisher of PRESENT, a print magazine, global community and support system for Modern Makers.

Sarah Discours is an art director, graphic designer, and partner at PRESENT.
